Plant lists are by habitat/site conditions.
Site conditions have a range themselves. For example wet soiled sights range from areas next to water to areas that receive runoff or are swampy/wet areas of lawns. 
Each site condition will have a brief description.

Some plants are displayed on multiple lists. These plants can tolerate a wide range of conditions but may suffer during extreme weather. 
This list is generally for Southern New England. 
This list only displays perennial herbaceous plants.
